Erika & Josh | 9.14.19 | Dusty Acres Homestead | Kayla Bertke photography & design

“Attention to detail” is what comes to my mind as I captured the beautiful wedding day of Erika and Josh. They handcrafted beautiful burlap flowers for their centerpieces, aisle, arbor and each and every bouquet and boutonnière! They had oodles of handmade items at every turn, from their guestbook bench to the strawberry jam favors. I especially loved the tokens in memory of their late loved ones.

I arrived at the beautiful grounds of Dusty Acres Homestead early and began capturing all the pretty details of the day. The weather was so beautiful; I could feel that fall was on the way with the cool breeze and the fields turning maize around me.

After capturing the anxiousness and excitement in the bridal suite all morning, I couldn’t wait for Josh to see his beautiful bride! I was not disappointed with the reactions from both Josh and Erika as she walked and sang down the aisle! It was heartwarming (I may have even shed a tear or two during their vows).

After the ceremony, Erika, Josh and I were able to take our time and explore the grounds to capture some beautiful portraits of the two of them.

Overall, the day went perfectly! I enjoyed seeing the love these families shared for the couple and for each other. Erika and Josh, thank you for allowing me to capture this important day for you!
